Reservations and Payment
To confirm your package Grape Escape Limited
requires a deposit of 10% of the total package upon booking. This
booking deposit is non refundable unless cancellation is received
70 days prior to tour commencing. If cancellation is received
prior to the 70 day deadline then a cancellation fee of $100 NZD
will apply. Grape Escape Ltd reserves the right to change package
prices at anytime up until booking confirmation has been made.
Full payment for the package is required 60 days before tour commencement.
If a booking is made less than 60 days before tour commencement,
then payment is required in full at the time of booking.
Customer Trust Account
The Grape. Escape Ltd protects customers' deposits
and final payments through "The Grape Escape Customer Trust
account". The trustee's are Gregory Beachen and Carole Beachen
Directors of Grape Escape Ltd and Solicitor Stephen Greer of Sainsbury
Logan and Williams, Barristers and Solicitors Napier. The Trustee's
have established a bank account named “The Grape Escape
Customer Trust “ at the Napier Branch of the National Bank,
Napier, New Zealand. All deposits and sums of money paid by customers
for travel services offered by The Grape Escape Ltd can be paid
directly into the Grape Escape Customer Trust account.
The Trustee's shall not withdraw funds from the trust account
except as follows
a. In partial or full payment to providers of goods and services
comprising the tour or travel package purchased by the customer.
Some of these payments may be required before the date of travel
in order to confirm reservations. The Grape Escape Ltd may be
a payee for any element(s) of the tour or travel package it provides.
b. To make refunds to customers, and in that event to pay the
amount of a cancellation fee, if any, due to Grape Escape Ltd.
pursuant to its terms and conditions of sale to the customer.
c. On Scheduled travel date pay all parties supplying goods and
services for the tour. Then, not sooner than the scheduled travel
date, pay the remaining funds to Grape Escape Ltd as its compensation.
In the event of Default by Grape Escape Ltd consumers may obtain
information to file a Claim by writing to: Trustee Stephen Greer,
Solicitor, Sainsbury Logan and Williams, 61 Tennyson Street, Napier,
NEW ZEALAND.
Our preferred method of payment is by direct bank (Telegraphic)
transfer into a Trust Account. See registration form for details.
Tour And Holiday Prices
All prices within this website are quoted in
NZ dollars and are inclusive of
all tour preparation and marketing costs. Prices include New Zealand
Goods and Services Tax at 12.5%. The Grape Escape reserves
the right to alter the cost without notice because of new or increased government charges, taxes or other
increased costs. Even in this event, we will absorb an amount
of equivalent to 2% of the tour and holiday price, and if the
increase is in excess of 10% you will be entitled to cancel your
holiday with a full refund of all moneys paid excepting any premium
paid for travel insurance and/or amendments fees. The Grape Escape
guarantees all prices upon receipt of full payment.
Amendments
Any amendments requested by you, once your reservation has been
confirmed, will incur a minimum charge of $50 NZD per file
to cover administration and communication costs.
Cancellations
It is recommended that you take out insurance covering cancellation.
Having accepted your booking, should it become necessary to cancel
your reservation 45 days or more prior to departure date, your
deposit only shall be forfeited. Cancellations made within 45
days of departure date will incur the following charges:-
(Expressed as a percentage of the Tour and Holiday confirmed price).
- 44-22 days prior to departure - 25%
- 21-10 days prior to departure - 50%
- 9 days or less prior to departure - 100%
No refunds will be made once travel has
commenced nor will any refund be available in respect of any tours,
accommodation, hires, services or inclusions not utilised.
Amendments
Cancellations Made By The Grape Escape LTD
You will be notified at the time of booking of any known changes
in itinerary, hotels or tour price and you are under no obligation
to continue with your booking should these prove unsuitable. We
reserve the right to change travel arrangements once a reservation
has been confirmed due to safety, adverse weather or any operational
reason whatsoever and will notify you or your travel agent as
soon as it is reasonably possible. Please note that compensation
will not be payable if we are forced to cancel or in any way change
your holiday as a result of war, or threat of war, riot, civil
strife, industrial dispute, terrorist activity, natural or nuclear
disaster, fire, adverse weather conditions, technical problems
affecting transport or any similar events beyond our control nor
will we be liable for flight delays or changes to your holiday
for health or safety reasons. As is normally the case with group
tours, a minimum number of bookings are required in order to be
financially viable and to have a pleasant group atmosphere. In
the unlikely event that minimum numbers can not be achieved, it
may be necessary to cancel a scheduled departure and to offer
the nearest possible alternative date (or a full refund of all
monies paid). "IMPORTANT" A decision
as to whether a tour will operate is usually made 60-45 days before
the scheduled departure date. It is suggested if possible that
all airline tickets are purchased with this in mind to avoid any
airline cancellation charges.
Accommodation and Meals
Tour and Holiday prices are based on using twin-bedded accommodation
with private facilities in Hotels as listed in the itineraries
(or those of a similar standard) Single traveler costs are available
and must be requested at the time of booking. All meals are included
in the tour price.
Other Inclusions
Coach transportation, entrance fees, cruises
and domestic flights where specifically indicated in the itineraries.
Smoking
Smoking on coaches in New Zealand is prohibited by Government
legislation. However, adequate stops are made for the comfort
of smokers. Smoking in any place of employment ie bars and restaurants
is also forbidden in New Zealand
Personal Expenses
Items of a personal nature, such as laundry, phone calls, tipping,
room service, optional excursions, wine & beverages, etc,
are not included in tour and holiday costs and are your own responsibility.
Travel Insurance
Travel insurance is not included in your tour cost. It is strongly
recommended that insurance be taken out to protect you against
cancellation charges, loss or damage of personal effects, ill
health and medical expenses and any other unforeseen insurable
events. Please discuss this with your travel agent at time of
booking.
Air Travel
No International or Domestic air travel is included in the cost
of any of the itineraries featured in this web site (unless stated).
Air travel can be arranged through your travel agent. Departure
Taxes Tour and Holiday prices exclude International and New Zealand
departure taxes, customs and immigration fees.
Passport & Visas
Please check with your travel agent or airline regarding current
passport, visa and vaccination requirements. Generally vaccination
certificates are not required for European, US or UK residents travelling
directly to New Zealand. Your travel agent will advise
of other requirements should you be stopping en-route. All travellers
will require a valid passport to enter New Zealand. Visas for
short term stays in NZ (i.e. less than 3 months) are not generally
required for US, British and most European passport holders. Please
check with your travel agent or airline at time of booking as
to the precise requirements and procedures for obtaining passports
or visas. (It is the responsibility of the traveller to hold the
above travel documents).
Health And Fitness
All passengers must warrant that they are reasonably fit and healthy
to participate in the tours and holidays. Passengers requiring
medical and physical assistance must be accompanied by a companion.
The Grape Escape, their Driver/Guide or agents can not provide
this service.
Complaints
In the unlikely event that a problem occurs during your holiday,
then it is important that you immediately inform the Tour Services
Director or the provider of the service. If that is not sufficient
to resolve the matter then contact the NZ office of The Grape
Escape. If your complaint cannot be resolved satisfactorily at
that time, you must write to our office within 30 days of your
return to your home country supplying all the relevant details.

in matters within their control relating to travel arrangements,
accommodation and all the other services featured in any of the
