Day 1: Heli Wine Dine

Depart Napier 10am - Return 5pm Enjoy an exciting helicopter tour of the Hawke's Bay region with full commentary by your pilot. Depart Napier or Bridge Pa and fly over the horticultural landscape of Hawke's Bay and surrounds. Zoom along the Hawke's Bay coastline and fly down into the Tuki Tuki Valley landing at Craggy Range for a tasting of their wonderfull wines. We then depart Craggy and fly over Te Mata Peak and on to Black Barn for lunch. Flight ends and we continue by road During the afternoon you'll learn about the regions many different grape varieties and a little bit of local history. Once we reach our first winery we will take time to walk among the vines and learn about the unique growing conditions of the Gimblett Gravels district. You will taste classic red European varieties such as Syrah/Shiraz, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, and Pinot Noir. The area is also famous for the white varieties, Chardonnay, Sauvignon, Semillon, Pinot Gris and Viognier. Four wineries will be visited during the tour with time taken to enjoy various cheeses from around New Zealand. At the end of your tour you will be dropped off at your accommodation.

Day 2: Art Deco and Dinner

This morning will start with an escorted walk with Clarence Bertram St John Fitz Montague through the city of Napier Art Deco Capital of the World. Including visits to private homes built and furnished in the classic Art Deco style. The afternoon is yours. Choose from a range of activities available. This evening dine at the Old Church where new owner and Executive Chef Richard Highnam will prepare an amazing 7 course degustation dinner for you with matching wines.
